Choosing the right boots... mission impossible?

That said, in today’s post, we’d like to share some useful tips:
- Choose your usual size
This is always a good starting point, though it’s best to try the boots on to ensure the perfect fit.
- Consider the material
The type of leather affects how the boots fit. For example, leather, suede and napa tend to stretch with wear. In some cases, you may want to consider a smaller size.
- Comfort in three key areas
Make sure you feel comfortable in the heel, sole and instep. These three points are crucial for a good fit and to avoid long-term discomfort.
- Loose vs. tight boots
It’s better for boots to be slightly loose rather than too tight. A slightly larger fit allows for thicker socks, especially in colder climates.
- Use of socks and insoles
For the first few days, wear thin cotton socks. Once the boots have moulded to your feet, you can switch to thicker socks. If the boots are too big, insoles can be an effective solution.
- Tools for putting on and taking off boots
The first few days you may find it a little bit difficult to get your foot in, but that's completely normal! They will soon adapt to your own last and you will be able to put them on without any problem. You can insert a plastic bag between your heel and the boot to help you move your foot with less effort. Once inside, remove the bag and that's it! On the other hand, if you have difficulty removing your boots, you can use a boot remover, available in plastic, wood or metal, to remove them without damaging either your foot or your footwear.
- Material and quality
Always opt for high-quality materials that protect your feet from the weather and rough surfaces. Well-made boots offer durability, comfort, and a better fit over time.
